I’ve wrote a review for Run with the Hunted’s amazing “Destroy all Calendars” a while back. However, Refoundation Records recently released “destroy all calendars” together with Run with the Hunted’s debut EP entitled “find your way out” under the name “everything familiar”. Therefore, I’ve decided to post the old review again and add some words about the debut ep below.
Voyages is the first full length of Michigans Tall Ships and the vinyl version is out now on Assault Records. This is the first time i came in contact with Tall Ships and it turned out that i find it really difficult to describe their music style as they bring together a lot of different influences and they switch between those styles.
While we often search for new and interesting bands in the west it might be worthwhile to check the East too. For example, Hungary, the home of the “New Dead Project”.
On This Day Forwards “in Response“’s last track a homeless guy tells the band that they should “play their asses off” no matter how many people are in the audience. I saw Finding Faith a while ago live, and they are a band that really does just that: play their asses off.
I just read a show review for a 244GL show, and the reviewer wrote that the female singer had a nice rack… what the fuck? I mean honestly, we should be passed that. Why am I writing this? Reaching Hand are also a female-fronted band. They are hailing from Portugal and after forming in 2007 their debut EP “Threshold” was recently released by “Chorus of One” from Italy.
This is is review for the Farmer’s Boulevard release „Red Carpet“. You might already know it, as they released it already in 2006, but still, if you haven’t it’s worth a look. Farmer’s Blvd is one of the older german hardcore bands, doing their thing since 1997 and presenting their third fullength on their own Label PCS Records.
Gothenburg / Sweden seems to have a growing music scene as the Dead Vows are another new hardcore band from that area, bringing together members of bands like Smackdown, Anchor, 8 Days Of Nothing, Seven Feet Four and others. As a result, they play fast hardcore punk combined with some rockier midtempo parts. "Bad Blood" is Dead Vows debut fullength, released by Refoundation Records.
